Q. Is every handicap accessible van the same and how do I know what type of van I need?
A. There are multiple different types of conversions (handicap modifications) that are used for different size chairs and occupants. The size of the wheelchair with the occupant and the number of people riding in the van will be the main deciding factor. Ask our rental professionals for advice; they have extensive experience in fitting your needs!
Q. How do I secure a reservation?
A. To make a reservation either submit a rental request form that is on our website, we can email you the reservation form to fill out, or call us and we can fill out the form over the phone.
Q. Do I need to contact my insurance carrier before renting?
A. Yes, contact your insurance agent to make sure that you have coverage for rental cars in the event of an accident.
Q. Do you sell supplemental insurance for your rental vehicles?
A. No, we do not offer supplemental insurance for our rental customers. The rental contract states that the lessee’s insurance is primary if anything were to happen during the rental period.
Q. Do you deliver the rental vans?
A. Yes, we can deliver and pick-up the vehicle for an additional charge. The charge will depend on the delivery location. This includes most airports.
Q. Do you also have wheelchairs, lifts, or ramps for rent?
A. Yes, the other company in our building (Orthopedic Service Company) can help you with those products to make it a one-stop-shop for all mobility products.
Q. Can I park my car at your facility while renting the handicap accessible van?
A. Yes, we have plenty of parking for rental customers to leave their personal vehicle while renting.
Q. How far in advance do I need to submit a reservation form to secure a vehicle?
A. Our rentals are first come first serve. There is no set time interval but to be matched with the perfect van we suggest planning at least a week in advance. Holidays will sometimes book up a month or two ahead of time!
Q. Will the van be outfitted with a securement system for the wheelchair and passenger and will you show me how to use it?
A. Yes, every one of our rental vehicles comes with a crash-tested securement system made by Q’Straint and a seatbelt harness system. We will show you how to properly secure the wheelchair as well as the passenger.
